As Canadian Airports Safety Week approaches (Sept. 15 to 19), we’re proud to shine a light on the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep you safe at Saint John Airport.
At the heart of that work is aircraft rescue and firefighting. Our airport operations specialists are trained to respond to emergencies around the clock – but their role goes far beyond fire safety.
They monitor runways, maintain equipment, clear snow and ice, and ensure the airport meets strict safety regulations. In short, they are the backbone of daily operations, helping Saint John Airport run smoothly and safely year-round.
This fall, we’re excited to welcome two new specialists to the team (pictured left-right): Josh Wilson and Luke Flann.
Both recently completed intensive training at the Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute, a world-class school at Toronto Pearson Airport. They return to Saint John with top-tier skills and experience, strengthening our airport family and reinforcing our commitment to the highest standards of safety.
Canadian Airports Safety Week is the perfect moment to recognize their dedication – and the dedication of every member of our operations crew. Their professionalism ensures travellers can count on Saint John Airport as a safe, reliable gateway to the world.
And if you’ve ever thought about joining this dynamic team, now is your chance. We’re hiring an airport operations specialist. You’ll find the job posting on our website.
At Saint John Airport, safety isn’t just a priority – it’s at the heart of everything we do.
