From Nigeria to Saint John: Faith’s journey with YSJ

When Faith Owobu arrived in Saint John nearly a year ago, it was a big change downshifting to the slower pace of Maritime life from bustling Benin City, Nigeria with its population of more than 1.4 million people. Her family, including her husband, is still back home, but she’s hoping to make Saint John her permanent home.

As part of her MBA studies at UNB Saint John, Faith completed a business consulting project for YSJ – an important step toward her graduation this October.

Drawing on her background in conflict resolution, she conducted a customer experience study for the airport. Her research uncovered valuable insights that will help shape YSJ’s five-year plan for delivering exceptional passenger service. One finding stood out in particular: many passengers said YSJ “feels like home.”

Faith has also experienced a few personal changes during her time here. She admits she used to be afraid of dogs – until she met YSJ Aerial, our friendly facility K9. Now, she’s an Aerial fan for life.

With her eye on a career in human resources or operations, Faith is excited to see where her Saint John story will lead next.
