Recently, Saint John Airport welcomed community members, neighbours, and stakeholders to a public open house as part of our Land Use Plan update, a process required by Transport Canada. While the in-person event has passed, the conversation is still very much open.
The Land Use Plan is an important planning document that outlines how airport lands are used today and how they may evolve in the years ahead. It helps guide future development while balancing operational needs, safety requirements, and community considerations.
At the December 16 open house, visitors were invited to review drawings and planning materials, speak directly with airport leadership and consultants, and ask questions about how airport lands are managed and developed over time.
The drawings and materials posted on this page illustrate:
-
Current uses of airport lands
-
Areas reserved for aviation-related activities
-
Long-term planning considerations required under federal regulations
These materials are intended to provide clarity and transparency around how decisions are made and how future development is guided—not to signal immediate construction or changes.
